1. Acceptance of these terms

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of iceskatingnearyou.com, operated as Ice Skating Near You ("we", "us", or "the Site"). By using the Site, you agree to these Terms.

If you do not agree, please do not use the Site. These Terms work together with our privacy policy and disclaimer.

2. What the Site provides

The Site is a free, independent directory of public ice skating rinks in the United States, along with maps, search, and informational guides. We do not operate any rink, and we do not sell tickets, take bookings, or process payments.

The Site is static. It has no user accounts, and you do not need to register or provide personal information to use it.

3. Informational use only

All content on the Site is provided for general informational purposes only. It is not professional, medical, legal, or safety advice.

Listing data comes from public business listing data, imported in bulk and refreshed periodically. Ratings and review counts are Google's public figures at the time of import, and feature tags are derived automatically from each business's listing text.

Hours, public skate sessions, prices, and other details change often and may be wrong or out of date. You are responsible for confirming any information directly with the rink before relying on it.

4. Skating safety and assumption of risk

Ice skating is a physical activity with an inherent risk of falls, collisions, and injury, including serious injury. By choosing to skate, you accept those risks.

Always follow each rink's rules, staff instructions, and posted safety guidance. Use appropriate equipment, such as properly fitted skates and a helmet where advisable, and skate within your ability. Children should be supervised.

Outdoor natural ice is never guaranteed safe. Ice on ponds, lakes, and rivers can be thin or weak without visible warning. Nothing on the Site is an assessment of ice conditions. Follow local authority guidance and posted warnings, and stay off ice that has not been approved for skating.

We are not responsible for conditions at any rink or skating location, or for any injury, loss, or damage arising from your visit.

5. No warranty

The Site and all content are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. This includes implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement.

We do not warrant that the Site will be available without interruption, that it will be free of errors, or that any listing, rating, map location, or schedule is accurate, complete, or current.

6. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Site or reliance on its content.

This includes a wasted trip, a closed rink, a cancelled session, a pricing difference, or any injury or loss connected to a rink or skating location listed on the Site.

Because the Site is free, our total liability for any claim relating to the Site is limited to zero dollars, or the lowest amount allowed by applicable law if that is higher.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty exclusions or liability limits, so some of the above may not apply to you.

7. Third-party links and content

The Site links to websites and services we do not control, including rink websites, map services, and Google. The Site also displays ads served by Google AdSense, and photos served from Google's image servers.

We are not responsible for third-party content, products, services, or privacy practices. A link or ad does not mean we endorse the site or advertiser. Your use of third-party sites is at your own risk and subject to their terms.

8. Intellectual property

The Site's design, layout, original text, guides, illustrations, and code belong to us and are protected by copyright and other laws. You may view and share links to our pages for personal, non-commercial use.

Business names, logos, and trademarks shown on the Site belong to their respective owners. Their use here is only to identify the businesses and does not imply any affiliation or endorsement.

Listing facts such as addresses, phone numbers, and hours are factual data. Photos shown from Google's image servers remain the property of their owners or uploaders.

9. Prohibited uses

When using the Site, you agree not to:

• Scrape, crawl, or download the Site or its listings at volume, or copy the directory in bulk to build a competing product or dataset
• Use bots or automated tools in a way that places an unreasonable load on the Site or interferes with other visitors
• Try to gain unauthorized access to the Site, its hosting, or related systems
• Introduce malware or anything else designed to harm the Site or its visitors
• Interfere with, hide, or tamper with advertising on the Site, or generate fake ad clicks or impressions
• Frame or mirror the Site, or present its content as your own
• Use the Site for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms

Normal indexing by search engines is welcome. We may block access from anyone who violates these rules.

10. Corrections and removal requests

We welcome corrections. Rink owners and visitors can email us at hello@iceskatingnearyou.com to correct, add, or remove a listing. See our contact page for what to include.

We decide at our discretion whether and when to make changes, and we may edit, update, or remove any content at any time.

11. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims, losses, and expenses, including reasonable legal fees, arising from your misuse of the Site or your violation of these Terms.

12. Changes to the Site and these Terms

We may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Site at any time without notice. We may also update these Terms from time to time.

When we update the Terms, we will change the date at the top of this page. Continuing to use the Site after changes are posted means you accept the updated Terms.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of [STATE], United States, without regard to its conflict of law rules. Any dispute relating to the Site will be handled in the state or federal courts located in [STATE], unless applicable law requires otherwise.
